The Therapeutic
Recreation Branch professionals specialize in the provision of therapeutic
recreation services in clinical facilities throughout the community for persons with
disabilities. Branch members include practitioners, administrators, educators,
volunteers, students, and consumers.
The purposes and objectives of the New Mexico Therapeutic Recreation Branch and its
membership will be, among other stated objectives, to promote therapeutic recreation
throughout the State of New Mexico and to support the purposes of the New Mexico
Recreation and Parks Association. It shall also recognize and support the purposes
of the National Recreation and Park Association .

The Leisure
and Aging Branch is a section of the New Mexico Recreation and
Park Association (NMRPA), which represents the fields of leisure and aging. Members
include senior center staff, recreation practitioners, activity directors, administrators,
educators, students, volunteers and older adults. Our mission is to help older
Americans remain healthy and active through participation in recreational pursuits and to
provide the leadership, advocacy and education necessary to ensure the availability of
leisure and recreation opportunities for older Americans.
